Automotive
Prototype parts, test fixtures and repeat components for automotive development and production.

Overview
Prototypes, test fixtures and repeat parts
Automotive prototypes, test fixtures and repeat components have different priorities. A prototype may answer an assembly or packaging question, while a repeat build needs a stable drawing revision and consistent acceptance criteria. State which stage the enquiry supports. Use the manufacturing enquiry guide to prepare the files and requirements for that build.
Parts that fit, work and look right
Brackets, housings, connectors and interior components can involve metals, engineering plastics or combined assemblies. Specify the temperature, fluids, loads and appearance requirements that affect material selection. Mark mating surfaces, fastening features and important dimensional relationships.
From trial parts to repeat orders
Keep the approved files, material grade, finish and inspection requirements with the order. Identify any required customer documentation or validation process during quotation. Confirm changes explicitly when moving from a trial quantity to a repeat production run.
