3D printing
Work with Aria to select FDM, SLA or SLS for the appearance, fit or function you need to evaluate.

Choose the prototype around the question you need to answer
A visual model, an assembly trial and a loaded component do not need the same prototype. Aria helps you discuss the material and process against the purpose of the part, so the printing choice follows what you need to learn. Our FDM, SLA and SLS options have separate build, finish and timing considerations shown below.
When the design is ready for its next stage, you can discuss CNC machining or injection molding with the same engineering team. A printed prototype supports that decision; it does not automatically reproduce the material properties or surface of a production-molded part.

FDM printing
A nozzle deposits thermoplastic filament in layers. Build orientation affects strength across layers and the position of supports.
SLA printing
Light cures liquid photopolymer resin into the part. Washing, support removal and the specified post-cure are part of the process.
SLS printing
A laser fuses polymer powder into the part. Surrounding powder supports the build, with powder removal and surface preparation after printing.
FDM printing specifications
| Parameter | Range | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum build size | 500 × 500 × 500 mm | Build orientation and part geometry affect the usable envelope. |
| Dimensional accuracy | ±0.5%; minimum ±0.15 mm | The larger absolute or percentage allowance applies; confirm critical dimensions. |
| Layer height | 100–300 μm | Select with the material and surface requirements. |
| FDM lead time | From 3 business days | Confirm quantity, finishing and delivery requirements in the quotation. |
| Infill | 20–100% | Select for the intended load and weight. |
SLA printing specifications
| Parameter | Range | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum build size | 145 × 145 × 175 mm | Build orientation and part geometry affect the usable envelope. |
| Dimensional accuracy | ±0.5%; minimum ±0.15 mm | The larger absolute or percentage allowance applies; confirm critical dimensions. |
| Layer height | 25–100 μm | Select with the material and surface requirements. |
| SLA lead time | From 6 business days | Confirm quantity, finishing and delivery requirements in the quotation. |
SLS printing specifications
| Parameter | Range | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum build size | 300 × 300 × 300 mm | Build orientation and part geometry affect the usable envelope. |
| Dimensional accuracy | ±0.3%; minimum ±0.3 mm | The larger absolute or percentage allowance applies; confirm critical dimensions. |
| Layer height | 100 μm | Select with the material and surface requirements. |
| SLS lead time | From 6 business days | Confirm quantity, finishing and delivery requirements in the quotation. |
Planning your 3d printing order
- Printing methods
FDM, SLA and SLS.
- Quantity and production timing
General range: 3–7 days and 1–500 parts; FDM from 3 days, SLA/SLS typically from 6 days. Confirm the selected process and quantity.
Design considerations
Choosing a printing material
Match the printing process and material to the test: stiffness, flexibility, appearance or temperature exposure. Resin, filament and powder grades with similar names can behave differently.
