Keep grade and operating conditions attached to the drawing

A heat-resistant molded part needs more than “PPA” on the material line. Aria helps you discuss the selected grade, reinforcement, working environment and important dimensions together. That keeps the material decision connected to the part you need, rather than applying the property values of one glass-filled grade to every PPA formulation.

Compatible manufacturing processes

Selection requirements

Injection molding

Injection molding with thorough drying and high-temperature equipment; supplied references are around 320°C melt and at least 120°C mold temperature. Account for gate position, flow direction and dry/conditioned dimensions. Do not apply the 33% glass-filled values to unfilled PPA.

Advantages and considerations

Temperature exposure

Advantages

High strength, stiffness and creep resistance at elevated temperatures; lower moisture uptake than conventional nylon and good resistance to automotive fluids.

Temperature exposure

Material limitations

Cost and processing temperatures are higher than conventional nylon. Moisture still matters, and glass reinforcement produces direction-dependent properties and shrinkage.
