Keep the specified grade with the critical features

Bring Aria the titanium grade, material condition and documentation required for your component, alongside its drawing. We help you review machining, surface requirements and inspection as one brief. The property values below identify their grade and condition so you can compare them against the specification for your component.

Special propertiesGrade 2 commercially pure titanium, Grade 23 ELI and aged Grade 5 STA are distinct options. Colored anodizing uses an oxide film rather than dye.

Detailed values describe Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5, annealed. Family ranges are broader selection references and may include different grades or reinforcement levels. Confirm the selected grade, condition and test method for your part. Melting temperature is not a working-temperature limit; use the mill certificate for the specified alloy and temper.

CNC Milling Services

CNC Milling Services: CNC milling and turning with sharp appropriate tools, controlled cutting speed/feed and ample cooling. Avoid chip buildup and repeatedly cutting work-hardened surfaces. Control chip ignition hazards and thin-wall deflection. Specify grade, product form and heat treatment; do not transfer annealed Grade 5 properties to other titanium grades. 3-axis milling, 4-axis milling, 5-axis milling: Use a machinable stock grade; geometry, workholding and material condition determine feasibility.

Advantages and considerations

Environment & surface

Advantages

High strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance and nonmagnetic behavior. Suitability for medical contact depends on the specified grade and documentation.

Temperature exposure

Material limitations

High cost, low thermal conductivity and challenging machining. Low elastic modulus can allow thin-wall deflection; sliding contacts can gall and chips require careful control.

Elevated-temperature selection

TIMET describes Ti-6Al-4V as retaining useful properties up to about 350°C, with performance affected by microstructure and thermomechanical history. This is a grade reference, not a universal allowable service temperature. For sustained heat, specify load, exposure duration, heat treatment and acceptable creep or fatigue performance before approving the material.
